Groundwater Monitoring and Remediation

Who Needs Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation?

To clean up impacted groundwaters, groundwater remediation is necessary.  At contaminated sites, groundwater monitoring wells are esablished to accurately characterize the contamination plume and track the success of remedy in reducting contamination.  All actions including obtaining representative groundwater samples for characterization and assessment are referred to as groundwater monitoring.  Pumps and bailors are used to remove stagnant well casing water and allow formation water to enter the casing for a representative aquifer sample.  Field parameters including PH, electrical donductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and oxygen reduction potential are measured using water quality metering instruments.
