Hydrogeologic Evaluation

What is Hydrogeologic Evaluation and Basin Characterization?

Groundwater occurs in subsurface formations, some of which are hundreds of feet underground. Groundwater management and decision-making rely heavily on knowledge of the underlying geologic formation, which includes stratigraphy of layers, soil/rock formations, water-bearing zones, aquifer features, and storage capacity. Boring and geophysical logs are used to create representative cross sections of the formation and well tests are performed to assess aquifer properties.

How A-Tech Can Help

Our hydrogeologists are well-versed in California’s geology and can provide valuable insights about the underlying lithology and required tests.
