Rodent Feces Assessment

Decontamination Monitoring

MAJOR ISSUE

A municipal owner of an animal control office contacted A-Tech about urine odors and rodent droppings on horizontal surface below the ceiling line. A-Tech responded and conducted a visual inspection of the property. It was determined that rodents were having a field day on the property and dropping were evident above ceiling line and the rodents had eaten through the HVAC ducting and thermostat control wires.

MAJOR DECONTAMINATION

We immediately coordinated with a rodent extermination company to eradicate the rodents and seal the perimeter building openings. A-Tech developed a scope of work for a remediation company to conduct decontamination off hours, so not to disrupt normal business operations. Once that was completed, the remediation contractor removed and replaced the drop ceiling tiles and decontaminated all areas above and below ceiling line with an approved biocide. A-Tech conducted project oversight to ensure that proper decontamination procedures were followed so that no cross contamination occurred. Subsequent to all work A-Tech conducted rat allergen testing to ensure the decontamination procedure was effective. Our goal was to expeditiously return the building into a safe and healthy environment for its occupants.
